SCIRB Advisory Board Composition

Membership Information

The SCIRB is comprised of thirteen (13) members. Seven (7) appointed by the Governor, two (2) appointed by the temporary speaker of the senate, two (2) appointed by the speaker of the assembly, one (1) appointed by the senate minority leader and one (1) appointed by the minority leader of the assembly.

The members serve without compensation but are allowed the necessary and actual expenses incurred in the performance of their duties. Estimated expenses below are based on travel expenses between the member's home and the Empire State Plaza or Metropolitan Area Regional Office where board meetings are held.

Process for Filling Vacancies

Vacancies resulting from a board member's resignation shall be filled with candidates who meet the requirements of the membership as provided for in Statutes-Public Health Law Article 2, Title IV, 250-251.
