Dr. Kimberlee Musser,  Wadsworth Center Chief of Bacterial Diseases, with Drs. Upsana Agrawal and Rajnish Gupta, both of NITDR, at NICON 2026.

The National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases (NITRD) invited the Wadsworth Center Chief of Bacterial Diseases, Dr. Kimberlee Musser, to participate as a distinguished faculty member at the NITRD International Conference on Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases (NICON 2026) held February 12-15, 2026 in New Delhi, India.  Dr. Musser gave a talk on developing and utilizing next-generation sequencing testing for Mycobacterium tuberculosis with a review of 10 years of whole genome sequencing and three years of direct specimen targeted next generation sequencing testing and reporting.

The conference featured a comprehensive program with lectures and discussions on latest advancements in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of respiratory diseases including tuberculosis. Respiratory diseases, particularly tuberculosis, continue to pose significant challenges to health in the United States and globally. This conference served as a vital platform to bring together leading experts, dedicated practitioners, researchers, and students from across the world to share knowledge, discuss innovations, and collaborate on strategies to combat these pressing issues. Dr. Musser participated in the Welcome Inauguration Ceremony and all other conference activities. Discussions at the conference included building future collaborations between the Wadsworth Center and the National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases in New Delhi, India.
