Dr. Thomas Bartlett and Dr. Siân Owen from the Wadsworth Center’s Division of Genetics attended the 2025 Boston Bacterial Meeting (BBM) in Cambridge, MA – one of the nation’s premier microbiology conferences, drawing over 500 experts annually.
For the second year in a row, both researchers were invited to chair scientific sessions, reflecting national recognition of their leadership in the field. They presented their ongoing research and engaged in in-depth discussions with fellow scientists, including researchers from Harvard and Tufts, to explore new collaborative opportunities.
The meeting offered a valuable platform to exchange ideas, learn from unpublished studies, and bring fresh insights back to New York State. These insights will directly support the Wadsworth Center’s efforts to address antibiotic resistance and advance public health research and practice.
