The Immunology Core provides access to specialized methods, instrumentation, and expertise in flow cytometry and cell sorting.

Flow cytometry instruments assess the physical and fluorescent properties of cells and particles in a stream of liquid. Common applications of flow cytometry include:

  • Phenotyping of immune cell populations
  • Antibody labeling of cell surface and intracellular markers
  • Expression of fluorescent reporter proteins in eukaryotic and prokaryotic organisms
  • Cytokine Bead Array
  • Cell proliferation
  • Signal transduction events such as calcium flux
  • Cell cycle progression based on levels of DNA and RNA

The Core staff access additional support from:

  • Application specialists
  • Service engineers
  • ABRF (Association for Biomolecular Resource Facility)
  • NERLSCD (Northeast Regional Laboratory Staff & Core Directors)

To book a consultation or time on an instrument please contact Dr. Jennifer Yates, Director.
