Bacterial Serology

  • Anaplasma phagocytophilum IgG IFA
  • Bartonella henselae and quintana IgG IFA
  • Borrelia burgdorferi ELISA
    • B. burgdorferi VlsE1/pepC10 IgG/IgM Screen with reflex
    • B. burgdorferi IgG and IgM when Screen is positive or equivocal
  • Brucella abortus IgG-IgA-IgM Tube Agglutination
  • Coxiella burnetii (Q Fever) Phase 1 and Phase 2 IgG IFA
  • Ehrlichia chaffeensis IgG IFA
  • Rickettsia IgG and IgM IFA (Spotted Fever and Typhus Fever groups)
  • Treponema pallidum (syphilis)
    • RPR and TPPA

      • includes West Nile and Powassan serology
    • Powassan IgM ELISA (if Powassan MIA result is reactive)
    • Arbovirus IgG IFA includes:
      • Eastern Equine Encephalitis
      • Western Equine Encephalitis
      • St. Louis Encephalitis
      • California Serogroup Encephalitis
  • Chikungunya IgG and IgG ELISA, Serum*
  • Flavivirus Screen, Serum*
    • Flavivirus IgG-IgM-IgA Microsphere Immunofluorescence Assay (MIA)
      • includes Zika and Dengue serology
    • Zika IgM Lateral Flow

*When encephalitis PCR is also requested for any arbovirus

  • Freeze at least 1.0 mL of CSF and/or serum
  • Ship on dry ice directly to the Viral Encephalitis Laboratory (VEL).
  • Specimens will be forwarded by VEL to DIL
     

Vaccine Preventable Disease

Contact your local county health department for approval prior to submitting the following:

  • Measles - IgG and IgM ELISA, active disease
  • Mumps - IgG ELFA and IgM IFA, active disease
  • Rubella - IgG ELFA and IgM ELISA, active disease

Immune Status Serology

  • Immunity testing for measles, mumps, and rubella is available for local and state health department employees only.
